As per French regulation, every student receives, directly from the French Government while studying, a monthly allowance of 90 to 120 Euros, to sponsor part of his/her lodging expenses.
Course Information
The program consists of a fixed curriculum of required courses. Students alternate course work with practical situations in which they have the opportunity to apply and test what they have learned. Course instruction, in English, emphasizes operational and strategic management tools required for international hotel and restaurant management, while nurturing in the student a professional attitude and behavioural chararacteristics essential for greeting and serving customers, attributes that are imperative to the effective practice of the profession.
The European Bachelor's degree in hotel management trains students for operational and supervisory management positions. The program combines cutting-edge management science with traditional know-how in hotel and restaurant management. Course work is reinforced through immediate application of knowledge in practical settings.
Accreditation
A double degree is given upon completion of the program:
- European Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management (Opening authorized by Academie Montpellier Feb. 23, 1998 ). Degree accredited by Eurhodip, European Association Awarding Hotel & Tourism Degrees.
- Licence de Management du Tourisme, specialite Hotellerie, (French National University degree through the Universite de Perpignan, Convention, March 8, 2001)
- European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) Total : 180 credits ECTS for the duration of the studies.

Teaching method
Students are expected to participate actively in every phase of their highly internationalised and multicultural training programme. Course work complements practical training, cultural and technical seminars. Vatel's teaching personnel strive to attain outrivaled teaching standards by pushing back the boundaries in their respective disciplines.
Internships
The program is structured around alternating semesters of course work and semesters of paid practical training in France or abroad, with each segment lasting 5 months. During the Internship, the student is provided with free board and lodging as well as a monthly allowance of approximately 300 to 500 Euros as salary.
The objective of industry placement at the end of each academic semester is to provide elements of relevant practical job skills to enhance the students' understanding of current work practices within the industry. Students are provided with the opportunity to work within international hotel companies while employers are provided with highly motivated and trained staff.
